Privacy policy
What we keep, why, who else handles it, and how to take it or delete it.
What we keep
- Your email address, to sign you in.
- A one-way code made from your email address, and the date it got its free mock, so that each address gets one.
- Your goal: the role, level, interview date and job description you give us.
- Your facts and stories, with the words each one came from.
- The text of your story conversations and your mocks, what a partner said in a mock, the feedback on them, and your scores. For a partner-mode mock, also a voice match score for each stretch of speech. No voiceprint is kept.
- Replays: the interviewer's questions, the company and interviewer names and the date, taken from notes or a recording you add. We keep those and not the notes, the recording or its transcript.
- Your coding attempts, quiz answers and review cards.
- Your credit history, purchases and refund requests, and the country and province or state you told us when you agreed to our terms. We don't keep your address.
- What your mocks cost us to run.
- When you agreed to our terms and which version, that you confirmed you are 18 or older, and whether you asked for product news.
We use all of this to run Rehired for you. We don't sell it, and we don't train any AI model on it.
What we don't keep
- Your CV and LinkedIn files. We read a file in memory to find facts for you to check, and we don't store the file. The facts we found stay in your account, marked unconfirmed, until you confirm them, delete them, or upload a new file of the same kind, which replaces the ones you haven't confirmed. Nothing unconfirmed is used in an answer or a mock.
- Your voice. Audio goes to a speech service to become text, and we don't store it.
- Recordings you add for a replay. They go to a speech service to become text, and we don't store them.
- Voiceprints. In partner mode, voice matching happens in the server's memory and no voiceprint reaches a disk. What is kept is a match score for each stretch of speech. The biometric policy lists exactly what is stored.
- Your card details. They go to the merchant of record at checkout and never reach us.
Who else handles your data
These companies process data for us, to run the service:
- Anthropic: its AI reads your documents, runs the interviewer and writes the debrief, so your CV text, your answers and your notes go to it.
- ElevenLabs: turns your speech into text, so your audio goes to it, and speaks the app's lines, so those words go to it.
- Railway: runs the app and hosts our database, so everything we keep is held there.
- Resend: sends our email, including your sign-in codes, so your email address goes to it.
- Cloudflare: its check on the sign-in page keeps out spam sign-ups, so your browser connects to it when you sign in.
- Sentry: receives error reports. These hold the kind of error and where in the code it happened, and no text of yours.
- The merchant of record named at checkout: takes your payment and handles tax. It tells us what was paid, and it may tell us the province or state on your billing address, which we use for a check and don't store.
Some of these companies are outside Canada, so your data may be processed in the United States and other countries.
Other people in your data
Your stories and notes can mention other people. Keep to what your practice needs. In partner mode, your partner's words are stored as text in your mock, with a voice match score for each stretch of speech. In a replay, the interviewer's name and words can be stored if your notes include them, and you can delete a replay at any time.
How long we keep it
Until you delete it or delete your account.
If you don't use your account for 12 months, we delete what's in it: your goal, facts, stories, conversations, mocks, debriefs, replays, coding attempts, quiz answers and review cards. The check runs every day.
If the account has no paid credits left, we delete the account too, with any free credit in it.
If it still has paid credits, or a refund still open, we keep what those credits need and nothing more: your email address so that you can sign in, the country and region you told us, when you agreed to our terms, and your credit history, purchases and refund requests. Paid credits never expire, so we keep these for as long as the credits last. We stop sending product news to that address. When the credits are gone and the account has been unused for 12 months, it is deleted too.
A few records stay when an account goes, and none has your name on it: what your usage cost us, any refund you asked for, with its amount and payment reference, so that we can still pay it, and the reference numbers of the merchant of record's payment notices.
The one-way code made from your email address stays too, with no end date, because otherwise deleting an account would bring another free mock. We can't turn it back into your address. If someone gives us an address, we can check whether it has had a free mock.
If we invite you to our closed beta, we keep the address we invited until you join, we take it off the list, or 90 days pass. Once you've joined, it goes when your account does.
Backups. We keep backups so we can recover from a failure, and we use them for nothing else. When you delete your account, or we delete an idle one, your data leaves the service straight away, and copies stay in our backups until they age out, within 5 weeks.
What you can do
- Take it: your Account page exports what we hold about you as one file. It leaves out only your sign-in sessions, the date you were invited, and the one-way code made from your email address.
- Delete it: your Account page deletes your account and everything in it straight away.
- Correct it: you can edit or delete any fact and story yourself. For anything else, write to us.
- Stop product news: turn it off on your Account page or use the link in any such email. We only send it if you asked for it. Sign-in codes and receipts still arrive.
You may have other rights under the law where you are, and you can complain to your privacy regulator.
Your browser
A cookie keeps you signed in. It lasts 30 days from the last time you used it, and 90 days at most, and no script on the page can read it. We store only a scrambled copy of it, so our database alone can't sign anyone in. Your browser's own storage holds your practice settings and the work you haven't saved yet. We use no advertising or analytics trackers.
Adults only
Rehired is for people 18 or older. We don't knowingly hold data about anyone younger.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we ask you to agree again before you carry on.
